Purpose of the Seminar:
In this developing world considering the need of implementing Sustainable Development Goals, GIFT University has taken an initiative to work for the betterment of Life on Land. A seminar has been arranged for the students of course “Environmental Science” under the Umbrella of Experiential Learning by the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences in collaboration with GWMC to understand the practices of Solid Waste Management by Gujranwala Waste Management Company (GWMC) in Gujranwala region.
A productive seminar was held on 20th of December, 2023 in collaboration with GWMC to facilitate the Experiential Learning of course with the title “Environmental Science”. The representatives of Gujranwala Waste Management Company (GWMC) described the responsibilities of GWMC in Gujranwala region. Students of course Environment Science took keen interest and enthusiastically participated in Seminar with healthy questions.
Students showed interest to work with GWMC for better outcomes and take Pakistan towards the ladder of Sustainability. Guest Speakers from GWMC: Mr. Khurram, Mr. Sikander Choudhary and Mr. Naqash Kabeer explained the working of GWMC towards Waste Management Practices. Seminar was accompanied by Registrar GIFT University, Mr. Waseem Ullah Dar, Associate Dean Arts & Social Sciences, Dr. Um e Laila, Deputy Director Student Development Centre, Ms. Mariam Sohail and Course Instructor of Environment Science, Ms. Sabaina Tahir. Through the seminar, students came to know about the methods of converting waste to energy and practical implications in Future.
